The story of Audrey the Barn Owl
Audrey is a wild Barn Owl who was found in Berry Pomeroy, Devon, by a member of the Public in 2015. At the time she was just a nestling and thought to be only 4 weeks old.
Audrey had suffered an injury to her right wing and was taken to a local vet for treatment. She was later brought to the Barn Owl Trust to continue her rehabilitation in the hope that she might be released back into the wild.
Sadly, the injury to her wing was so bad that she never fully recovered, and she could not have survived back in the wild. Instead, the Trust decided to give her a home in their Owl Sanctuary where she could live for the rest of her life.
Audrey can fly, but not very well, so she lives in a specially adapted aviary with 4 other female Barn Owls.
Audrey is one of our adopted Barn Owls and has now lived at the Trust for 9 years.
