‘…a gigantic shop window for local agriculture, horticulture, food and drink, rural crafts and forestry…
How has the show changed over the years? Well, the agricultural core of the event – the livestock and the machinery – is as strong as ever, but just as the rural economy has grown and diversified from its farming base, then so has the show. Top quality, locally produced food and drink has become a key element, to the benefit of both showgoers and the businesses of the producers, while the focus of the whole event has shifted. What was once a show about farming for farmers has become a show about everything that happens in the Devon countryside, for everyone. And that change has been achieved without the show ever losing touch with its historic, agricultural roots.’
‘We look forward to welcoming you all to a spectacular celebration of Devon rural life through the ages‘ – Richard Maunder, Devon County Agricultural Association Secretary
