Tawny Owl release
This evening we released the tawny that arrived on Christmas Day – at her finding place. The video is over-exposed by our head torches but you can see her orientate herself before flying off strongly.

Clearing out Barn Owl nestboxes
This photo from a recent site visit shows Mateo cleaning out a nestbox. This is necessary to ensure that the distance between the access hole and the floor of the nestbox is maintained to reduce the risk of young owls getting out before they are ready. Mateo and Pip also stabilised the box by adding brackets and created a new side inspection panel. Find out how to clear out Barn Owl nestboxes on our website.
