Climate and Ecological Crisis? – What’s all the fuss about?
Do we really need to be concerned about all the heatwaves and storms we keep hearing about? Surely these things have always happened?
David’s new presentation gives an introduction and up to date overview. More details.
This talk is offered to groups free of charge. Please note this is not a Barn Owl Trust talk.
Please contact us to book and for details.
The two standard Talks we give are ‘Restoring the Balance‘ which is about Barn Owls, their decline and the work of the Trust, and ‘The Lennon Legacy Project‘ which is about the creation of ‘Barn Owl Heaven’ (our 26-acre nature reserve) and the resulting biodiversity gains.
Most in-person Talks are given in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset. The cost is a suggested minimum donation and depends on the travel distance from our base at Ashburton, on the edge of Dartmoor. Please take a look at the diagram below to find the suggested minimum donation for a presentation in your area. We occasionally give talks further afield, including in mainland Europe (e.g. at the World Owl Conference). Talks are also available via Zoom and other online platforms. The suggested minimum donation for online talks is £50.
Barn Owl talks for children: The suggested minimum donation for in-person talks for school groups are at the above prices for one class of up to c.30 children and increase by £10 for every extra class. Bookings numbering over 60 children may require 2 sessions. The suggested minimum donation for online talks is £50 for one class of up to c.30 children.
Guided walks in ‘Barn Owl Heaven’ with refreshments or Devon Cream Tea: We have a wonderful wooden Meeting Room at our base near Ashburton (in south Devon, UK) from which we offer guided walks around our 26-acre nature reserve (the Lennon Legacy Project).
Guided walks for groups of between 10 and 20 are priced as follows:
- A suggested donation of £8 per person for the walk with tea and biscuits to follow, or
- £10 per person for the walk with a Devon Cream Tea.
- Other refreshment options are available – please contact us for details.
- We offer substantial cost-reductions for Friends of the Barn Owl Trust – please contact us for details.
We can also offer a Barn Owl talk in our Meeting Room before a guided walk – or instead, if the weather is unsuitable (with prior arrangement). Please contact us to discuss further details.
Bespoke events: We are happy to create specialist talks or unique events, tailored to your group, business or organisation, in a beautiful rural environment, so please contact us to discuss the possibilities.
All donations from our talks and events help the conservation of wild Barn Owls – Thank you.
Events Diary: Fascinating talks, nestbox or craft workshops, practical conservation, professional Barn Owl surveyor courses and lovely guided walks in ‘Barn Owl Heaven’ here, on the edge of beautiful Dartmoor – often with yummy refreshments!
