Barn Owls depend on good rough grassland which supports a high population of Field Voles. Our focus, when creating Barn Owl habitat, is to encourage a wide mix of native grass species. This is great habitat, not just for Voles and Barn Owls but also for an abundance of other wildlife.

To measure the progress of the biodiversity within our wildlife haven (Lennon Legacy Project), we carried out flora and fauna surveys. We used quadrats along grassland transects to quantify the relative abundance of all the grasses and herbs and measured sward height and litter-layer depth, recording our findings in species lists.
