BBC Wildlife Magazine - Barn Owl Fact File

The April 2013 issue of BBC Wildlife Magazine - on sale from 13th March features an 11-page special on Barn Owls. In an article written by travel and nature writer Pete Dommett you can read about community projects to support these wonderful birds. Pete was a conservation officer with the Barn Owl Trust back in 1999 and returned to visit us here in Devon whilst writing the article. The issue also has 'top tips' for Barn Owl sightings and how to improve your Barn Owl photography.

Go to the BBC Wildlife Magazines website to read the Barn Owl Fact File we helped produce!

Handykam is a family business situated in West Cornwall. They offer excellent value in modern camera and wildlife products for public, commercial and domestic use. All products (and instructions) are designed with the customer in mind to make them practical, effective and as easy as possible to understand and use. We have personal experience of their products and services and cannot recommend them highly enough.

If you are interested in having a bird nestbox with a wildlife surveillance camera inside or installing a camera to observe an existing birds nest, the Barn Owl Trust recommends Eco-watch, a small firm run by dedicated wildlife enthusiasts. Eco-watch also install high quality wildlife surveillance systems for visitor centres.

Living on Earth

Living on Earth is a weekly environmental news and information program distributed by Public Radio International in America. Their website offers people living outside Amercia the chance to listen to the programs via the internet. They cover a broad range of ecological issues and include news, features, interviews and commentary programs. In August 2007 they ran a feature called 'Raptor Ruin' which included our Senior Conservation Officer, David Ramsden giving an interview about Barn Owls and major roads. You can listen to this by searching the site for Barn Owls or selecting the 'Raptor Ruin' link.

The Barn Owl Trust is dedicated to conservation & education and does not operate a visitor centre.
