Live owl emergencies – how we can help
We are based in Devon and normally only receive Barn Owls found in southwest England. Across most of the UK owl casualties are received by a wide range of independent local vets and owl rehabilitators.
Following our detailed advice on this website you should be able to assess a casualty owl, find out what needs to happen next and get help.
- During office hours you can get one-to-one advice by calling us on 01364 255256.
- Outside normal working hours, please see our nationwide list of wildlife vets/rehabilitators.
- (Please note that our social media pages are not monitored 24/7 and you may not receive a reply for several days to messages left here.)
A whole chapter of the Barn Owl Conservation Handbook is dedicated to casualty assessment, short-term care and the principles of Barn Owl rehabilitation.
